This allows you to know when one wheel is losing traction and therefore when to control the power. ABS equipped bikes already have speed sensors on both wheels, so it is easier to install the ARA. On bikes without ABS, a speed sensor with a ring must be installed on the wheel without a sensor (usually the front wheel). The sensor kit is included with ARAs for non-ABS models.
