It is common to replace the OEM steering damper with a better unit for racing use. The ECU detects that the electrical characteristics have changed and displays the error "FI" on the dashboard. It is very important that this "false" error is suppressed as otherwise it will mask any other faults that may occur later. what does the BDS do? The SD Eliminator emulates the electrical characteristics of the original steering damper, so the ECU does not detect any changes and therefore does not display the "FI" error. The unit is really compact (14x40mm) and light weight (17g) and only needs to be plugged directly into the bike's original connector to remove the error, no cutting or soldering is required.
