OptiMate lithium - battery efficiency guaranteed! Operation Pre-qualification test: OptiMate Lithium shows the state of the battery before charging and measures the ambient temperature. The ampmatic™ charging programme is selected according to the temperature and battery condition. Low voltage recovery: The safeTº protection mode controls charging during the sensitive SAVE phase of the battery to ensure correct and safe recovery of a deeply discharged battery. Tests are performed throughout the SAVE programme to determine if the battery has successfully recovered and can be switched to COLLECTIVE CHARGE. Collective Charging: The ampmatic™ microprocessor actively adjusts the charging current to match the capacity and condition of the battery, achieving a full charge in the shortest possible time. Progress is tracked with the ideal charging curve reference for LiFePO4 batteries. Short-circuited / depleted cell check: Charging progress is tracked with reference to the ideal charging curve for LiFePO4, thus detecting any internal damage and avoiding unnecessary charging of batteries that cannot be recovered. Absorption and Compensation: Pulsed current is supplied for 10 minutes at a controlled voltage between 14.0 and 14.3 V, thus facilitating cell voltage compensation and improving the overall power performance of the battery. Charge verification: The voltage is limited to 13.6V while the ampmatic™ processor monitors the current drawn by the battery. If this indicates a sub-optimal charge, the programme reverts to absorption for a further 10 minutes. Voltage hold test: This is performed for 30 minutes during which no charging voltage is supplied. There are 5 possible results indicating the overall health of the battery. A green result (voltage > 12.7V) extends the test for up to 12 hours to check for possible excessive self-discharge or higher than expected power loss through the vehicle's electrical system. Charge maintenance: The 12-hour MAINTENANCE CHARGE CYCLE consists of 30-minute float charge periods at a voltage of 13.6 V, followed by and alternating with 30-minute "rest" periods (no charging current). During the float charge period, power is only supplied if the battery has lost charge due to connected vehicle circuits. A refresh cycle can be performed if the charge level has decreased significantly. The voltage retention test and the maintenance charge cycle shall be repeated 24 hours after the start of the first test and shall continue to be repeated as long as the charger remains connected. The alternating charge and "sleep" maintenance program protects the battery against discharge by the vehicle's connected circuits, making it ideal for long-term, indefinite maintenance charging with 100% safety. 3-year limited warranty.
