SBS DS-1 and SBS DS-2 brake pads
UNIQUE DS-1 AND DS-2 COMBINATION
During the development of the DS-2, we received several comments making it clear that no rider brakes in the same way nor feels brake performance in the same way. Therefore, a completely new brake concept emerged: the Dynamic Racing Concept, which combines the best of two worlds: the strong initial bite and linear stopping performance of the DS-1, and the smooth initial bite and progressive stopping performance of the DS-2.
In short, a fine-tuning of braking performance according to each rider’s braking preferences.
SBS DS-1 BRAKE PADS
Strong initial bite
Linear stopping performance and brake feel
Rider quotes
“Very strong first part of the braking for better feel when the fork is fully compressed” “Excellent for very late overtaking braking”

SBS DS-2 BRAKE PADS
Smooth initial bite
Progressive stopping performance and brake feel
Rider quotes
“Great feel with the front of the bike when braking into corners”
“It feels easier to stop the motorcycle”

Rider quotes testing the DS-1/DS-2 combination:
“DS-1 added more initial grip compared to DS-2, allowing the front to settle better and making it easier to turn into corners”
“DS-1 reduced the strong ‘servo effect’ of DS-2”
“DS-2 slightly reduced the brutal initial bite of DS-1 and the bike felt easier to control under hard braking”
“DS-2 slightly increased the braking power of DS-1 at the end of the braking zone, allowing the bike to slow down a bit more easily before corner entry.”

A LARGE NUMBER OF RIDERS
A large number of riders prefer the well-known DS-1 for its aggressive initial bite characteristics and its linear, predictable stopping performance, and they do not want any change in its performance.
However, other riders asked for a compound with a slightly more manageable initial grip and more braking power at the end of long braking zones. Based on these requests, we are now introducing the DS-2.
During the 2017 and 2018 seasons, selected teams from the World Superbike Championship, Moto2 and Moto3 GP, the British Superbike Championship and the World Endurance Championship actively participated in fine-tuning the DS-2.
100% SAFE FOR NRS
As the first manufacturer in the motorcycle sector, SBS has managed to launch a sintered brake pad material using NRS technology. NRS™ adds a consistent matrix of raised steel hooks that facilitate a mechanical bond between the backing plate of the brake pad and the friction materials.
A mechanism that never fails.
Cooperation with a large number of winning teams.
We create the power to stop you.
SBS has been actively involved in top-level road racing since the 1990s, where collaboration with many winning teams has placed high demands on SBS R&D and race service departments. A collaboration that has resulted in many titles in the World Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock categories, and even more titles in National Championships around the world.
Since SBS launched the first DS Dual Sinter racing compound in the World Superbike Championship in 2007, the SBS R&D department has worked upon request and in cooperation with World and British Superbike teams and riders to develop another compound in the Dual Sinter family with characteristics different from the well-known DS.
We create the power to stop you. Made in Europe. You decide where and how to use it. Go ahead!
