The innovative Regina HPE High Performance Endurance chain features a tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) coating applied to the bushes and rollers, offering high levels of hardness with a low coefficient of friction. Key features of the Regina HPE chain: Combines high hardness with low coefficient of friction. Eliminates the need for periodic re-lubrication, while guaranteeing at least the same mileage obtained with a standard chain lubricated regularly every 500 km. Ta-C carbon coating; the closest thing there is to diamond: Pure carbon occurs in nature in only two physical crystalline states: diamond (bonds of atoms in a tetrahedral arrangement) and graphite (bonds of atoms in a hexagonal plane arrangement). ta-C is a synthetic state of pure amorphous carbon, in which up to 80% of the atoms are bonded together in a tetrahedral arrangement, in the same way as pure diamond. For this reason, among all the so-called "DLC" (Diamond-Like Carbon) coatings, the physical properties of ta-C (such as hardness and coefficient of friction) are the closest to those of pure diamond, which is the hardest material on earth.

INSTALLATION OF REGINA HPE CHAIN: A chain drive using HPE chain does not require ta-C coated front and rear sprockets. When installing a new Regina HPE chain, it is highly recommended to replace the sprockets with new, steel sprockets.

MAINTENANCE, CLEANING, AND TENSIONING OF THE REGINA HPE CHAIN:

To ensure its best functionality and aesthetics over time, follow 3 simple rules:

Clean and relubricate the chain: Just after washing the bike. After using the bike in rainy conditions and/or in salty or dusty environments.

Before storing the bike at the end of the peak riding season. Re-lubricate the chain once a year. Check that the chain is correctly tensioned every 3,000 km.
